Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great:
Today, leadership is the most discussed topic. There are
many people who consider themselves as good and perfect leaders. Many
organizations are looking forward for good people who fulfill the criteria of
leadership. There are many questions arise on the topic of leader and
leadership. First is what is leader and what is leadership? How people identify
that the people who pretend as a good leader is a good one or not? Now days
leadership is associated with power. Those people who dominate others and have a
lot of money, live in big houses, live a royal lifestyle are considered as good
leaders. As they have money and they consider themselves dominant so they
become leaders. In our society people need motivation, guidance and some ideas
to accomplish their goals. People need someone who stand up and taught them to
how to accomplish their goals so that they get the maximum of what they want.
Today technology grows a lot but people still are narrow minded. They have very
little qualities to judge someone. Upper class people mostly confront the
society and lower and middle class starts follow them blindly. If I talk
about leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization
and leader is someone who has ability to lead a group of people. In leadership
terms, there is one more question which is to be considered that are those
people willingly follow the person who act as leader. This is very important
that people follow the leader by their heart or through some threat or
something else. A good leader is competent and his talks influence others and
sometimes because of their ideas many people got their lives changed. A good
leader spread positive thoughts in people minds and fight against all those
negative things which are dangerously spreading in the society.
Early Life:
In our
history, there are some historical leaders who conquered the lands and make a
great mark in the history. These types of people are an inspiration for the
others. Alexander was one of those people and he was commonly known as Alexander
the great. He was a king of ancient Greek kingdom and one of the great and
brave people of that age. He was born in 365 BC in Pella. He was a son of a
great father Phillip. Although Philip has seven to eight wives and Alexander
was from the fourth one. In the early
years Alexander was raised by a nurse while in the early years of adulthood he
was taught by a great teacher Leonidas who was a relative of his mother.
Alexander was raised in a way that he likes reading, riding, fight and hunt. He
was a very wise person even form his childhood. At the age of 10 a person
brought a horse to his father. But the horse is very disturbed and seem to be
in fear. The Alexander noticed the problem and resolve the issue in less time.
Alexander completed his education in 340 B.C in Meiza.
Alexander
was only sixteen when his father gave him the charge of the kingdom when he was
gone to confront a battle Byzantiums. At that time Alexander saw the
opportunity to prove his military and in this way, he proves his bravery to
show that he has the qualities to become a great leader in the future. In 336
BC, the Alexander father Phillip was assassinated and he became the orphan. At
that time, he realized that he would do something for the people. At that time,
there are many more people who wanted that throne or who want to rule the
country. But Alexander was very clever, he kills all his rivals before they
stood to show their sovereignty. He quashed all the rebellious people and
follow the footprints of his father in order to maintain peace. Alexander after
hold the throne appointed general Antipater as regent and headed for Persia
with his army. Alexander then
headed south and easily took the city of Sardes.
His Great Fights:
In 333 BC Alexander and his army encountered a big
Persian army in Southern Turkey and this battle is known as Battle of Issus. In
this battle, the Alexander forces were greatly outnumbered but they lack the
experience and determination but at the end Alexander won the battle. By now it
was clear that Alexander was a shrewd, ruthless and brilliant military
leader—in fact, he never lost a battle in his life. Alexander was not a man of
peace mean he did not want to sit and enjoy his life. He always wanted to
conquer the lands. He loved riding and fighting so he always busy in those
activities who have riding and fighting. He has not lost a single fight in his
whole life. He was a man of determination and never loses hope even in the
worst cases. Alexander fought a battle of Tyre in 332 BC. In this case Tyrians
refused his entry to the island. He has no navy to speak of and Tyrians were
all surrounded by water. He asked his men to build a cause way to Tyre. They
tried again and again to reach Tyre but the Tyrians also make some arrangements
against them which caused difficulty for Alexander’s men. At that time, he felt
that a great well-prepared navy is also required in order to fight and conquer
different lands. In July 332 BC. they breached the walls of Tyre and won the
war.

named Rhoxana. And after a few months later of his death Rhoxana gave birth to
his son. His son was so young at that time and could not rule the nation. So,
different people stated fighting for the throne. After his death, the empire
collapsed. As there are many years passed but even that cultures of Greece
reflect something of the Alexander’s empire. Now it is revealed that
